I would suggest buying a coc dagger or crafting an ambusher or skean (1.6/1.5 base attack speed respectively).

The best option for COC now is a vagan dagger. Preferably a poignard or skean. Regal for any prefix then master craft the rest. Get lucky w/ the regal = Spell damage.
