Welcome to the Path of Exile Beta!

We've been working on Path of Exile for five years now, and are incredibly excited (and a little nervous) to be finally sharing it with people, especially other fans of action RPGs.

This is a genuine product testing beta, not a 'marketing beta'. We're a small indie team that wants your honest feedback. The game will continue to change regularly based on your opinions.

Path of Exile is currently unfinished. We have many months of changes planned, including revamps of almost every major system in the game. Some large features are not enabled yet and will be during the Closed Beta. We intend to openly discuss our plans for these systems so that we can get quality feedback. Please visit the Beta forums to read our plans for these areas.

There is currently no NDA in effect. You may talk about whatever you'd like. You may stream gameplay or post screenshots and videos without permission.

Please do not share your account. We periodically allow you to invite some friends to play with. If you abuse these rules we reserve the right to remove your access.

Please post bug reports, feedback and suggestions for improvement to the Beta forums on www.pathofexile.com.

We believe the quality of your feedback and suggestions during this Beta will be one of the biggest contributors to the success of the final game. So, please don't lurk and do give specific feedback and constructive suggestions not just complaints. We're listening to everything you say.

Also please note that characters will be wiped at the end of the Closed Beta period and might be wiped periodically during Beta for any reason.

POE : Alchemy Orb Recipe.

For this recipe  I've farmed hailrake in normal tidal island for a while. The idea was that because of his low level the amount of different items he can drop is very low too, so your chances to get the same item type are high. And he's easy to reach. 
What you need is lots of IIR (e.g. a Wondertrap setup), a ton of whetstones and scraps, and 5 five quicksilver flasks. And best set aside some stash tabs for the normal, magic and rare gear. If all that is no problem to you, you can get really a lot of alchs in a relatively short time.

That's a good idea. Another way is as a by-product of chancing for uniques; 20q, chance, then save sets to vendor on the fails (in my experience all of them lol).

For me, I pick up white Gavels from the ground and vendors. 4 Whetstones for 20%, then Chance. If blue, vendor with low level map for Chisel. If yellow, keep it and when I get another blue and white it's an Alchemy (20% normal Gavel + 20% magic Gavel + 20% rare Gavel = 1 alchemy). This only takes up 12 squares in your map stash tab.

Ideally I chance a Mjolner but I haven't yet.

There is nothing wrong with farming Alts if everything else fails. Pick a boss at a level you are comfortable with and you can get to fast (cruel/merciless Hillock is seriously underrated for this) and whack away :-D. 
Merciless Tidal Island is also a great spot (for now, who knows after 2.0 with the progression changes) since every rare from Hailraike can be used for the Chaos recipe.
If you prefer a larger Zone like the Ledge, (or in general, actually) I would invest in a portal gem. Serious leap in convenience and you have all those extra Portal scrolls to turn into Wisdoms. :-)

Taking advantage of the Master's rates also helps speeding up getting significant/tradeable amounts of Orbs.

And I would try Trade chat, you can get some really good deals there since for a lot of people speed > best rate on the server.

Farming Dominus Strat 1:

I'm trying to farm Dominus in bloodlines, got a L67 incinerator going with 2.2k DPS. When he's 10% or lower, I TP back to town, equip my MF gear and return to cull him. I'm sitting at 220% rarity + 53 from my IR gem. Most drops are rare but there are quite a few blues or even whites. I was thinking of getting IIQ with goldwyrm etc but figured I need to up my MF, what's the approximate value that makes most drops off of him rare? Worth noting I only have about 15c worth of currency, quite poor, but I'm hoping after a few days of farming I'll have enough money for an andvarius or 2.


Anything over 300% IIR is a waste.
